Oh spider, where for art thou?

Isn’t this a beautiful spiderweb? The light caught it just right as I was walking from the front porch to the car. I had to go get my camera to see if I could capture it.

Look at my Crepe Myrtle!

Last year the Japanese beetles almost destroyed this beautiful Crepe Myrtle. This year, I’ve seen no sign of the pesky buggers yet (maybe due to all the garlic I planted all around the bush). Does anyone know what variety it might be?
